Penang Botanical Garden: The Natural Heritage!

Penang Botanical Garden, also known as "Waterfall Garden" is a  public  park situated at  Waterfall Road in Penang Island, Malaysia. It was established in 1884 from an old granite quarry site.  The lush greeny of the botanical garden make it favorite park and a popular tourist attraction. The main objectives of the garden is to provide a clean,  safe and conducive public recreation environment, conservation programmes, education and  raising of public awareness in the appreciation of nature and gardening.  In addition, Penang Botanical Garden is also a recreational spot with many activities such as jogging, walking, jungle trekking and etc. It is also a picnic area where families spend their time together.

#10- The environmental friendly electrical transport  is provided for the group tour. Of course, you have to pay for the service.

#13- There are many monkeys hang around the garden.

#14- Don't feed the monkeys or else they will become aggressive. Make sure that you do not eat as you walk as monkeys likely to snatch it from you.

#15- The Cannon Ball Tree: A very rare tree to be found in the Penang Botanical Garden.

#16- A remarkable flowering tree bearing large pinkish red, fragrant waxy flowers borne on the tree trunk along woody twigs.

Penang Botanical Garden is a right place for escaping from the crowds and it is free of charge. Definitely worth for visit.
