Monkeycup Garden: Be with Nature!
Being the first of its kind in West Malaysia, Monkeycup garden located at Penang Hill (750m above the sea level) prides itself to have established a total of more than 100 varieties with species ranging from lowland to the exciting spectacular mountain or highland species from across the region.
What is Nepenthes?
Nepenthes is the sole genus of the Nepenthaceae family and is commonly called Pitcher Plants or locally called Monkey Cups, as monkeys in the wild drink water from it. It belongs to one of the most fascinating groups of plants in the plant world because it is a "Meat Eater"! Its pitchers or cups can lure and trap all kinds of small living things such as inserts, small frogs or even small rodents. Can you imagine if its pitchers were to be as big as a bath tub?
