Hatyai Trip- Day 2

Hello everyone. If you are following my blog all the time, I think that all of you sure will know that I had been to Hatyai, Thailand during Hari Raya this year.  You can read T.H.I.S just in case you missed it out.  Ok. Let me continue for the Hatyai Day 2. As we drove our own car, we had more fun by exploring to the places that probably tourists will not have the chance to experience it if they are following the tour group. Our next station for our Hatyai trip is Songkhla, Thailand. While on the way to Songkhla, we dropped by a place called Mahapanya Vidayalai. Honestly, we thought that it is one of the temple in Hatyai but it is really surprised us when we saw the words “大智佛教大学”(mean Buddhist University)as this is the first time we heard about it. Mahapanya Vidayalai (MPV)is known as an internation Buddhist school. The objective of MPV is applying the doctrine of Buddha as the basis, adopting Asia as the central of development, embracing the peace and harmony of humans society as her development of Buddhist undertakings uninterruptedly (Get the information from Wikipedia).

Mahapanya Vidayalai, the college of wisdom.

There are a big statue in the university.

Is it look like Kek Lok Si Temple in Penang?

Spot the hundreds golden Buddha statues? Actually those are graves which located beside Mahapanya Vidayalai.

After that, we traveled around 33km from Hatyai to Songkhla which took us 30 minutes to reach there. The first thing we did in Songkhla was visited to the Samila beach, a nice long beach with the white sand and spectacular  view. The Samila beach is very famous with the bronze Mermaid statue, a prominent symbol and landmark of Songkhla. Many tourists will go to take many photos with the Mermaid statue and you probably need to queue for your turn during peak hours. Beside of the Mermaid statue, there is a cat & mouse statue which is popular. There are many hawker stalls which sell Thai local foods, beverages, souvenirs, shoes and etc.

I love the sea view of the Samila Beach.

There is also a pony ride service there!
Everyone is queuing up to take photos with the pretty mermaid even in this super hot weather.

Coconut Ice-cream, a must try local food in Hatyai and taste heavenly good.

The special eggs and surprisingly it tasted not bad and I will try to cook eggs in this way.

Randomly drove around in Songkhla and we came to the jetty. Seriously we did not know where will we heading to by taking this ferry but we choose to take it as adventure.
