The Lantern Festival in Penang!
The Mid-Autumn Festival or Moon Cake Festival is celebrated on the 15th of the 8th month in the Chinese calendar which traditionally marked as a harvest season. It is normally fall on the night of full moon between early September to early October of the Gregorian calendar.
Traditions and myths surrounding the festival are formed around three fundamental concepts which are gathering with family & friends, thanksgiving for the harvest or harmonious unions and praying for conceptual or material satisfaction. In the modern the celebration, it is still an occasion for outdoor reunions among friends and relatives and the most famous activity is the performance of dragon and lions dances.

There was some special celebration of Lantern Festival which happened in Penang this year. Hundreds of visitors gathered at the Love Lane area where the narrow streets in this historical part of the city were fulled with various activities such as moon cake classes, Cantonese Opera performances, puppet shows and many more.
