Pantai Kerachut: A Place that Stole My Heart!


Pantai Kerachut , one of the famous beach in Penang National Park is located at the north-east of Penang Island. It is a well known place which is frequently visit by locals and foreign tourists. Pantai Kerachut is definitely a good place for us to enjoy the mother nature and the best gateway to temporarily get out of the hectic city life.

There are two way to get to Pantai Kerachut beach. First, you can go there by walking or hiking along the lush greenish of Penang National Park which will take you between 1~2 hours' journey. The second option is by taking boat which will be faster and will cost you around RM 15 per person for one way. However, the price is not fixed and you can try to bargain for good price if you're travel in groups. 


#1- Finally i reached Pantai Kerachut after 2 hours hiking through Penang National Park.  
#2-The meromictic lake is one of the special attractions of Pantai Kerachut. This unique lake is refer to the two layers of sea water and fresh water which does not mix with each others and its have different temperatures. The fresh water (Top layer) is relatively lower density as compared to the sea water (Bottom layer). 


#3-Who can resist this beautiful breathtaking sea view?
#4- Look at this beautiful sandy beach. How can you miss it? 


#5- I leave my footprints in the sand and the beauty of Pantai Kerachut leave the footprint on my heart.



Pantai Kerachut is also a place where has consistently recorded the highest number of turtle landing in Penang. Therefore, a turtle hatchery had been set up at the far end of the beach in order to enhance the survival rate, population sizes and growth rate of the turtles. There is also a Turtle Conservation Centre which is managed by the Fisheries Department. The centre provide a place for visitors to learn more about the conservation of turtle by the presentation of the informative displays in a very easy to read way.
#6-The baby green turtles are so adorable.


#7-I felt good to have a close view with the baby green turtle. Can i bring them home?

#8- The visitors can have a better understanding of the turtle's nesting process through the informative display. 
#9- The display of green turtle's skeleton.

#10- Time to go back home and i decided to take boat.

#11- Enjoyed the wonderful sea view that stole my heart.
#12- I had the chance to experience the boat driving and it was fun.
Remarks:  You can't find any restaurant, food or beverage's stalls at the Pantai Kerachut. So make sure you bring your own foods and drinks.
