Genting Highlands: The Entertainment City Above The Cloud!

Genting Highlands, also known as Resorts World Genting which is located at the mountain peak of Gunung Ulu Kali with the height of 1,860 metres  (6,100 ft) from the sea level.  It will take you around 1 hour from Kuala Lumpur by car or you can choose to access the resort by cable car which is called Genting Skyway with the 3.38 kilometres.  However, I took around 4 hours journey from Penang by bus.  The resort consist of hotels, casino, theme park (indoor & outdoor), Strawberry Farm and Chin Swee Temple.  Resort World Genting  has five major hotels. Surprisingly one of the hotels, the First World Hotel holds the Guinness World of Records as the largest hotel in the Asia with a total of 6,118 rooms.  Genting Highlands has remained the only legal land-based casino in Malaysia since 1971.

Genting Highlands is a place that has cooling climate all the time. The temperature of the highlands is between 20˚C to 25˚C during the day and 15˚C to 20˚C. So please make sure that you all wear some thick clothing during night time. Be a smart consumer to visit Genting Highlands during low peak seasons for cheaper accommodation rates and to avoid crowd.

Beverly.
