What Are Toxins?

In the 21st century, we are facing a major problem which we keep filling our bodies with toxin. Toxin mean those substances we believe are bad for us. These included the caffeine, nicotine, fumes, junk food and alcohol. We are exposed to a enormous of toxin load each year, up to 5,000 new chemicals per year, and even  the average beauty regime exposes us to up to 150 potentially toxic ingredients on a daily basis.

Alcohol
Although studies show that small doses of amount is harmless to the body, regularly drinking of certain amount of alcohol (more than two drinks a day) can increase the risk of cancers and stroke. Binge drinking can even attack our major organs, brain cells and vision. Excess alcohol has an injurious effect on our body's system. Our body can only handle one drink an hour. More than this and a backlog builds up, stressing and damaging liver and resulting in a hangover.

 Caffeine
I think there's one thing that will always keep most of us working and it's definitely caffeine. We often believe that caffeine is not good for us and we must give up of it.  But do we really need to give it up? The truth is there are no major harmful effects of caffeine reported if you consume in less than around 600mg per day (around six cups of coffee).  However, minor health effects do happen to some people at the lower level than this.

Nicotine
Nicotine is a substance which highly addictive.  It hardens the arteries and causes high blood pressure. You can also simply take in 4,000 types of harmful particles with every puff from the ingredients used in cigarettes and the reactions that occur when they are burned.  The poisons such as lead, arsenic and cyanide will be inhaled which don't bring your body any benefit.  Carbon monoxide is also a poisonous gas produced by the combustion of cigarette smoking. It deprives the body of oxygen by combining with haemoglobin to form carboxyhaemoglobin.

Pollutants
We are exposed to many types of pollutants everywhere and everyday in our daily life, whether In the form of chemicals, hormones or heavy metals. These include pesticides, preservative, additives and heavy metals in food and water, chemical in cleaning products and materials which seem harmless household goods like curtains, carpets and furnishings. All of it cause health problems to human , ranging from allergies to cancer. Free radicals ,an unstable molecules is also a major pollutants which will attack healthy cells in the body and creating damage. It will cause the problems of wrinkling of skin and heart disease.

Sugars
Bearing in mind that sugar had been named by researchers as the number one ageing food. It is rapidly shaping up to be one of the major food toxins. Health experts also claim that sugar is one of the major promoters of poor health in the 21th century.  Sugar increases the level of toxic free radicals by 140 percent if you're consuming 300g of sugar (the equivalent of a can of fizzy drink and some chocolate) within 2 hours. Do you all know that sugar affects our immune system? Sugar also increases the levels of germs in the bowel, which can boost fermentation and increase the risk of more dangerous toxins being reabsorbed. The safe level of sugar intake is about 40g a day.

Life is getting harder than it's ever been before as we have to face with tonnes of toxins. We must know how to tackle those toxins so that they cause less damage to us for living a normal life. I will try to share more about health topics in my blog and hope that you all will like it.  Stay tuned!
