Paddy Museum!

The Kedah Paddy Museum, also known as Muzium Padi is located at the foot of Gunung Keriang, North of Alor Setar Kedah. The purpose of the museum is to showcase  the paddy cultivation process in Malaysia , displays different varieties of rice,  tools and equipment used in  cultivation over the years in various countries.  It is one of attraction in Kedah which is famous with its 360 degree circular wall art painting.  

There are three levels of exhibition floors with different themes: 

Level 1:  Display the history and production items related to paddy. 

Level 2:  Several galleries with panoramic murals that depict the agricultural activities.

Level 3:  The heart of museum. It is a platform where visitors can enjoy the 360 degree diorama and mural art paintings.

#10- I felt so impressed for the artwork. This amazing mural was painted by a group of 60 artists from North Korea who did their excellent job for creating the realistic panorama of paddy fields and scenery in Kedah.

#12- The platform was equipped with forty cinema seats where visitors can enjoy the 360 degree of panorama mural.

#15- Buffaloes have been used since centuries by farmers in order to plough their paddy fields.

#17- Guess what. I bought this rice soap in the Paddy museum. It smell good! 

Operational hours:

Open daily from 9am-5pm.  Closed between 12:30pm-2:30 pm on Friday).

Remarks: The museum will close on Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Hari Raya Aidiladha.
