Penang Bon Odori Festival is Coming to Town

Time: 6:00pm-11:00pm, Fireworks will be presented at 10:00pm sharp

Venue: Esplanade, Penang- Georgetown

Bon odori festival  is a Japanese cultural festival which is the traditional belief by the Japanese that the spirits  of the deceased ancestors would return once a year to visit their families.  It involves the traditional dance and lively drum performances to welcome back the spirits of ancestral.

Bon Odori Festival celebration in Penang is organised by the consulate of Japan, Penang State Tourism Development & Culture and Bon Odori Committee . The celebration will be held every year at the Esplanade field which is located at Jalan Padang Lama,  Penang.

Public Bus Transport : 

'Rapid Penang' bus route number :103 , 204 , 502 , 10 ,  CAT ( Free City Shuttle Bus)

Estimated Travel Time:

5 minutes if driving from Penang Ferry Terminal
