The Penang Bridge
International Marathon(PBIM) is held every year since 1985. It's always attracting the people all over the
world who love sports to come together and participate in this exciting event
of running across the Penang Bridge, the third longest bridge in the world.
The total number of
participants of Penang Bridge International Marathon keep increasing every year, from 19,000 in year 2009
increase to 24,000 in year 2010 and even reached up to 27,500 in year 2011. I
believe that the total number of participants will be more for year 2012 as nowadays most of the
people have better awareness on the importance of practicing a healthy
lifestyle.
The online
registration is available start from 28th April 2012. There is also a counter
ready to assist you from 12pm to 7pm
daily (except Monday) which is located at North Entrance, Opposite Winter
Warmer, Queenbay Mall.
The closing date of
registration is on 15th October 2012. Please noted that the Penang Bridge
Marathon do not accept the registration on the race day. For those who
interested, please make sure you do your registration before the closing date. For any further details, kindly refer to http://www.penangmarathon.gov.my.
Runner's
Entitlement:
- Full Marathon, Half Marathon and 10K participants will be given a vest each whille Fun Run participants will be given a T-shirt each to be worn during the run.
- E-Certificate of participation is available for download within 1 week after the event.
- Runners in all categories who complete the run within the finishing time will be awarded a Finisher Medal EXCEPT for Fun Run category.
- The first 15 winners in each groups will get the cash prizes EXCEPT Fun Run category.
- There will be Lucky Draw session that day. All participants will have an opportunity to win attractive prizes from a select pool of sponsors.
